Workshop description

This workshop rotates around our members’ gardens so that our members not only get a bit of help in their own gardens, but also have the variety and enjoyment of visiting other gardens. Members will have an opportunity to sow seeds, learn about plants and experience different gardening jobs as we go through the seasons.

Workshop aims

By the end of the workshop members will:

·         have learnt about each individual garden including the names of different plants and which ones grow well,

·         have performed different gardening jobs according to the season e.g. weeding, planting, pruning, composting and pest control,

·         have learnt ways to cut the cost of gardening by recycling old containers, making pots from old newspaper and sharing seed packets, etc.,

·         have thought about how Make, Do and Mend can market and sell plants to fund further workshops.

Other information

Please wear comfortable old shoes and bring a rain jacket if it looks as if it might rain. If you have your own gardening gloves please bring them too.
