Treasurer

Trustee Role Description

 

We are looking for an experienced and committed book-keeper to manage budgets, banking and financial reporting for Make, Do and Mend. We are a brand new charity providing strength-based skills workshops, peer support and information on local mental health resources for people who have experience of mental health distress.

 

The Treasurer is a Trustee position and reports to the Chair. Trustee responsibilities include:

 

·          attending Board meetings including the AGM,

·          demonstrating an understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of charitable trustees and directors of a charitable company Ltd by guarantee according to Charity and Company law,

·          demonstrating a commitment to the aims and objectives of Make, Do and Mend and to its development,

·          determining Make, Do and Mend policies in order to ensure it fulfils its charitable objectives; ensuring accountability to members and key stakeholders; and delivering good governance,

·          acting as a representative of Make, Do and Mend at appropriate events, including accurately representing the charity’s interests in order to raise the profile of the organisation and influence key stakeholders.
